A Letter to a Father about Leading

As I write this letter to you, it is my prayer that you receive these words and hear what I am going to express to you. First, I want to say that I had to repent to God for my disobedience when given these particular scriptures. The reason I repented was for my delay of sharing the scriptures. The scriptures I am referring to are found in Ephesians chapter 4 verses 11-18.

“11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. 17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:”

The first thing you need to understand is there are many gifts that God has given many people but what I am emphasizing in this letter is this, in 2022 apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are to lead you back to the word of God and Christ. Another thing that you need to know and that is according to the word of God in Ephesians chapter 4 verse 11-13. The importance of the apostle, prophet, evangelists, pastor, and teacher is for the perfecting of the saints. Also, the word of God answers the question of why the leaders are to help perfect the saints and that is for the work of ministry. Ladies and gentlemen, verse 12 of Ephesians chapter 4 informs us that we should be growing in ministry. Why do I say that?  The word of God says for the perfecting of the saints for the WORK OF Ministry that means that under the teaching, preaching, etc. of these people you should grow and teach another what you have learned. Why? Allow us to continue reading verse 12 of Ephesians chapter 4 and the last portion reads for the edifying of the body of Christ. If what I am sharing with you is not happening in your life, or you have been under teaching that is not preparing you for the work of ministry, then I would suggest you reevaluate some things. Now, this is a disclaimer I will never tell you to walk away from any ministry or propose that you leave any place of worship. However, I am saying self-reflect as you read the word of God and ask God for his guidance because the word of God says in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your path. As we move on to verse 13 of Ephesians chapter 4, we now see the importance of the entire mission of perfecting the saints for the work of ministry. The importance is to attain oneness in the faith and the full and accurate knowledge of the Son of God to reflect the image of Christ. How do we reflect the image of Christ? We reflect the image of God by having an intimate relationship with the word of God. How do we have an intimate relationship with God? We have an intimate relationship with God by reading the word of God and being in the presence of God. Why should we reflect the image of God, read the word of God, and have an intimate relationship with God? The answer to these 3 things are in verses 14-16 of Ephesians chapter 4.

In Ephesians chapter 4 verses 14-16 reads: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

God wants the church to grow and develop in such a way that the church will not be deceived. When I would go to weddings and the guest are to write a message to the couples, I would always write and say do everything from the seat of love. As I end this letter, I want you to know that to reflect Christ, we have to do everything from the seat of love. The church must join together fully operating in our callings with a spirit of excellence and with the wisdom to win souls. Be blessed.
