As I write this letter to you, I don’t even know where to begin. For the last couple of days, I’ve been led to read Ezekiel chapters 2 through 6, and I must say it was a challenging read, so I am going to address the hard text.
Now I’m going to share Ezekiel chapter 5 because it was alarming when I read Ezekiel. I didn’t want to write this letter, but I know I have to because it was a burden weighing on me.
Ezekiel Chapter 5 verses 5-17: Thus says the Lord God: This is Jerusalem; in the center of the nations I have set her, and countries are round about her. 6 And she has changed and rebelled against My ordinances more wickedly than the [heathen] nations, and against My statutes more than the countries that are round about her; for [Israel] rejected My ordinances, and as for My statutes, they have not walked in them. 7 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Because you were more turbulent and raged [against Me] more than the nations that are round about you and have not walked in My statutes, neither have kept My ordinances, nor have done according to the ordinances [concerning] the nations that are round about you; 8 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, even I, am against you, and I will execute judgments in the midst of you in the sight of the nations. 9 And because of all your abominations, I will do in you that which I have not done and the like of which I will never do again. 10 Therefore fathers shall eat their sons in your midst, and sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments on you and all who are left of you I will scatter to all the winds. 11 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord God, surely because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable things and with all your abominations, therefore will I also diminish you and withdraw My eye that it shall not spare you. And I also will have no pity. 12 And a third of you shall die of pestilence and be consumed by famine in the midst of you; a third shall fall by the sword round about you; and I will scatter a third to all the winds and will draw out a sword after them. 13 Thus shall My anger be spent and I will cause My wrath toward them to rest and I will be eased and comforted. And they shall know, understand, and realize that I the Lord have spoken in My zeal, when I have accomplished My wrath upon them. 14 Moreover, I will make you a desolation and a reproach among the nations that are round about you and in the sight of all who pass by. 15 So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and a horror and an astonishment to the [heathen] nations around you when I shall execute judgments upon you in anger and in wrath and in furious chastisements and rebukes—I the Lord have spoken it. 16 When I shall loose against them the evil arrows of hunger that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you, then I will increase the famine upon you and will break your staff of bread. 17 And I will send upon you hunger and wild beasts, and they shall bereave you [of your loved ones]; and pestilence and blood shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword upon you. I the Lord have spoken it.
Ezekiel Chapter 5 is a hard read, but my questions to you today is, are you examining your heart? Is there anyone in your life that you haven’t forgiven? Do you have a heart of repentance towards God? Are you praying the prayer of repentance? In this world that we currently live in, people are all doing dreadful things that offend God. Why are these things offensive to him? When I say people, I am speaking of believers too, seeking other Gods and power sources instead of God alone. I have seen many believers saying that they identify with zodiac signs, and that is not who you are; you don’t need to read a horoscope or get your palm read when you know the creator of the person reading your palm. That is just one example. If you read Ezekiel chapters 5 and 6, you will see and understand there is nothing new under the sun, which is currently happening in the WORLD. People are presently scattering and fleeing to other countries for their lives; There is a pestilence amongst us, and people are dying rapidly. This letter is not to put fear in your heart, but I am pleading with you to read Ezekiel chapters 5 and 6 and talk to God about it. Ask God is there anything in your heart or life that you need to make right with him or somebody and do it. Repent to God confess your sins because the word of God says if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Do you believe that? I do. I hope this letter compels you to search your heart and cry out to God for mercy and grace, but most of all, I pray that this letter leads you to seek and develop and relationship with Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, asking you to forgive us for all of our sins. God forgive us for everything thing we have done and said wrong in words, deeds, and actions. God, we renounce, detach, we unhinge our lives from any demonic altars that we have come in covenant with in word, deed, or action and the land, water, and universe in the name of Jesus. Father God, you said in your word that if we confess our sins that you are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. Father, we come in covenant with your word that would not return to you void, but it will accomplish what it is set out to do, and we say thank you for forgiving us, and we receive the forgiveness from you, and we forgive ourselves. Father, help us to walk the narrow path from this day forward because your word says you lead us down the path of righteousness for your name’s sake. God lead us in the name of Jesus. We seal this prayer in the blood of Jesus. Amen.
