A Letter to a Father about Lack of Knowledge

As I write this letter today, I must tell you that Hosea 4:6 has been pressing on me for the last few days. When I say that it has been pressing on me, I am referring to the constant thought of Hosea 4:6 in my mind. In Hosea chapter 4 verse 6 it reads

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Yes, this is a strict letter, but we are believers of Jesus Christ; we don’t mind God’s correction. We that are believers accept the correction because it is life to us. The first thing that was on my heart was this. God wants his children in his word. Why do we need to get into the word? (reading the bible) Because the word is Spirit and Life. (John 6:63). When you are reading the bible, you are reading God’s mind, the character of God, and the ways of God. I challenge you to do this before you read the bible; I want you to pray for the revelation of what God wants to show you, give you and teach you. Pray for the revelation before you read the bible because revelation transforms you. When you find yourself in a situation, or you would like to have insight, just google scriptures on whatever situation you are going through or the thing you want insight on and ask for the revelation of God to manifest in your reading time.

As I kept hearing Hosea 4:6, I got up and began to pray, and I was led to John Chapter 7. I have to be completely honest. I read it, and I was like God; you want me to teach in John chapter 7? I said to myself, okay. If that’s what God wants, then so be it. I begin to write this letter. I’m talking about right now, and it hits me. John chapter 7 is a direct reflection of Hosea 4:6. In John Chapter 7 verses 1-9 reads:

After this, Jesus walked [from place to place] in Galilee, for He would not walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him. 2 Now the Jewish [a]Feast of Tabernacles (Booths) was approaching. 3 So His [b]brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go to Judea, so that Your disciples [there] may also see the works that You do. 4 No one does anything in secret when he wants to be known publicly. If You [must] do these things, show Yourself openly to the world and make Yourself known!” 5 For not even His brothers believed in Him. 6 So Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come; but any time is right for you. 7 The world cannot hate you [since you are part of it], but it does hate Me because I denounce it and testify that its deeds are evil. 8 Go up to the feast yourselves. I am not going up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come.” 9 Having said these things to them, He stayed behind in Galilee.

John Chapter 7 verses 1-9 is a prime example of even those close to you who will speak from their human logic or from the standpoint of the world’s views of how you should operate instead of minding the things of the spirit. Allow me to explain what the word of God says about being carnally minded versus being spiritually-minded. The scripture that I am referring to is in Romans 8:6-7.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

I want you to grasp this revelation, and that is God is spirit, everything God does is in the spiritual realm. The bible that you are reading is speaking from a spiritual perspective, but it is your job to do the requirements in the physical realm to produce the manifestation from the spiritual realm. I have to let you in on a secret; the only way this can be achieved is you operating from the spirit, not the flesh. Allow me to go deeper how do I operate in the spirit realm. I believe in the TRUTH which is the finished works of Jesus Christ. Everything that Jesus died on the cross for it is finished. You should operate in faith and believe that you already have what the word of God says. There is no work that you can EVER do to live this faith-filled spirit-filled life. I know that I got a little off subject, but I had to get that out.

Now back to John Chapter 7. When you read verses 1 through 9, you can see the character of Jesus and the wisdom of Jesus. Jesus’s response to his brothers was the perfect response. When Jesus told his brothers you all go ahead, my time hasn’t come yet. Jesus knew the spirit of his brothers and knew that they were operating from the flesh, not the spirit. Jesus also knew by the things that his brothers said that they were of the world, so the world didn’t hate him, but because Jesus was in the world but not of the world, he was hated. Now when I say of the world, I mean the world’s system and the way the world conducts itself. You must understand this and understand this well. As a believer, you must operate from the spiritual order of the Kingdom of God. For example, the world says if you want money, you have to work hard and make money. In the Kingdom, it says give, and it shall be given back to you. The world system says to hate your enemy, seek revenge, get them back, and get even. The Kingdom of God says love your enemies do good to them. It also says if your enemies are hungry, feed them if they are thirsty give them something to drink. The bible also says speak evil of no one. Wow, very tall orders, but to a person who operates in the spiritual realm, you will see the power of the living God when you do these things. The carnal mind and the Spiritual mind Clashes because it’s like two different cultures trying to rule one person. Guess what that one person is you.

John chapter 7 verses 10-18 reads

10 But [afterward], when His brothers had gone up to the feast, He went up too, not publicly [with a caravan], but quietly [because He did not want to be noticed]. 11 So the Jews kept looking for Him at the feast and asking, “Where is He?” 12 There was a lot of whispered discussion and murmuring among the crowds about Him. Some were saying, “He is a good man”; others said, “No, on the contrary, He misleads the people [giving them false ideas].” 13 Yet no one was speaking out openly and freely about Him for fear of [the leaders of] the Jews. 14 When the feast was already half over, Jesus went up into the temple [court] and began to teach. 15 Then the Jews were perplexed. They said, “How [c]did this man become learned [so versed in the Scriptures and theology] [d]without formal training?” 16 Jesus answered them by saying, “My teaching is not My own, but His who sent Me. 17 If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know whether the teaching is of God or whether I speak on My own accord and by My own authority. 18 He who speaks on his own accord seeks glory and honor for himself. But He who seeks the glory and the honor of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness or deception in Him.

In the above verses, you can see Hosea 4:6 in action the people did not know because for one instead of asking others and assuming among yourselves, why not ask the God that you say that you are serving and he will tell you who the person you have in question is.

Another thing that captivated me was verses 17-18. The reason that I was intrigued by these two particular verses is this. Verses 17 and 18 is a perfect example of how a spiritually minded believer would see a person or situation.

As I end this letter, I am asking you to please do three things. The first thing I would love for you to do is to read the bible but not only read it, but also ask God for his revelation and wisdom. The next thing I want you to do is to believe in the finished works of Jesus Christ and know that God loves you so much, and he doesn’t want destruction for your life. God wants you to live a good life a prosperous life, and Finally, I want you to read John chapter 7 and ask God to reveal himself to you. I am going to leave you with these verses found in 1 Corinthians 2:14-16

14 But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters]. 15 But the spiritual man [the spiritually mature Christian] judges all things [questions, examines and applies what the Holy Spirit reveals], yet is himself judged by no one [the unbeliever cannot judge and understand the believer’s spiritual nature]. 16 For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].

Father God, we love you and adore you. God, we say thank you for this beautiful revelation that you have given us. Father, I ask that you allow every reader to understand and comprehend what the finish works of Jesus Christ are in the spirit. God helps us see that there is complete freedom in you and that you have accepted us just as we are. God help us know that it doesn’t matter what men think because you have already approved us. God mature us so that we continually operate in the spirit because you said in your word that when we do this, it is life and peace. God, it is written in your word that the word of God is Spirit and Life, so God helps us study your word. Help us not lean on our understanding and human logic and reasoning, but in all our ways, acknowledge you in everything and direct our path. God leads us, help us to see that whom the Son has set free is free indeed. God free our minds our hearts our ways and deliver us from our cultures into your Kingdom Culture, which is the best culture. God, I surrender this Prayer to you, and bless every reader of this letter, open the eyes of our understanding to know the hope and calling from you. God, we praise you, and Thank you for hearing our Prayer in your Son Jesus’ name. Amen.
