A Letter to a Father about Faith that produce actions

What I am about to share with you is something that I didn’t always understand. You see, I have always said that I have faith, and my actions did show that I have faith, but my actions didn’t always show that I have faith in God.

I am writing this letter to tell you that your faith produces actions, and I would like your actions to show that you have faith in God.

When I was reading in the book of Romans, chapter 4 verses 9-12, and it reads: “Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. 10 How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised. 11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also, 12 and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham had while still uncircumcised. (NKJV)”

My heart leaped for joy, and I begin to cry when I read verse 11.

“And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also.” (Romans 4:11 NKJV)

The reason that I begin to cry was that the faith of Abraham produced the action of circumcision, and it was an open display of the belief that he already had in God’s words. So, this action that was produced by Abraham was verifying what Abraham already believed in his heart.

As a parent, I want you to grasp this revelation. The revelation of what you believe is the product of your behavior. Please allow me to go further. After Jesus completed the forty-day fast and was hungry, Jesus was being tempted by Satan to turn stone into bread. The response from Jesus was powerful because it expresses the high value of the words of God. Jesus stated that: “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ This statement informs us that we live by EVERY word of God. If God says something, believe it. It doesn’t matter what is going on around you, within you or what is happening to you. In your moments of frustration, pain, rejection, fear, and loss, I implore you to find where it is written in the bible for that specific emotion or thing and read what God has already said about that situation and believe it and watch what your faith produces.

I’m going to give you some insight into faith. I am going to be transparent here as well. There was a time I didn’t see God as Father. I saw him as God the forgiver of sins, and he is going to punishment if I don’t do this and do that. I had the wrong perception of God. I knew he sent his son to die for me, so yeah, he loved me, but it stopped there. I didn’t see that in my failure all he wanted me to do was quickly come to him so that he could correct me out of his love for me, not from my love towards him. Also, there was a time I didn’t see myself correctly and by that, I mean I saw myself as not being enough, I believed that I didn’t have what it takes to be this or to do that. There was a point in my life where my self-esteem was low, and although it never showed in my appearance, I hid behind my appearance, but it showed in my actions. When I say it showed in my actions, I mean, I would get angry and lash out on people and say mean things. I would give up easily when obstacles would get into my way and say well; maybe it wasn’t the will of God for my life. What I am telling you is that I didn’t know my identity in Christ. Until one day I said enough is enough God I want to change now change me, and I begin to pray, and it was a straightforward thing that he kept showing me, and I must be honest it took me some time to grasp it, and he said you don’t believe. I was confused, and then God showed me that the reason you reacted that way is that you believed that you should tell that person a piece of your mind instead of doing what I told you, and that was to cast ALL your cares on me because I care for you. I am concerned about what concerns you. The reason you don’t deal with them anymore is that you don’t believe when I tell you to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you and wish all matter of evil against you. God showed me how much I didn’t believe him, so the faith I had was producing the faith I had in myself, not in God.

Now, I can genuinely say Thank God for growth and maturity in the spirit. As a parent, you must exhibit this faith. Why must you show this faith? So that your children and those around will see and glorify your Father in heaven. You must fight in the spirit and not in the flesh, according to the word of God.

Finally, you must exhibit this Faith so that you can see the open display of God’s glory on your life. God wants to bless you in every area of your life, can you believe that? It’s time for you to understand that your faith in God pleases him so much that he yearns and desires to hear from you and reward you. The word of God says that we must believe he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. My question to you today is, will you believe in the word that God has given on all of your circumstances and situations. God wants you to know that he loves you, and he is your Father, and he wants you to bring EVERYTHING to him. Even the things that you think are small, he wants those too because he cares about EVERY single thing that concerns you.

Father, you are great and majestic, and there is no one like you. You love us unconditionally, and we love you for that. God, please forgive us for all of our sins and help us to see ourselves the way that you see us. God help us to have your eyes and your faith. God helps us to believe in every word that comes from your mouth. God help us to get into the word of God and see what you have spoken over us, your children. God help us to see you as Father in every situation of our lives. Restore to us your Joy, oh God, and we receive the peace that you have already given us according to your word. God, we receive the glory and prayer that Jesus gave to us in the garden before he was crucified on the cross for ALL of our sins, and we say thank you for hearing our prayer and answering our prayer. Father, you said if you believe when you pray, then you should have it so by faith, we believe we have it in Jesus mighty name. Amen
