As a Father, you must know that for anything to thrive in life, it must be in the right environment. Allow me to explain further if you read the bible; God created the environment first before he created the thing that was supposed to live in that particular environment. For example, the waters were established before the fish made its home in the sea, and if you remove the fish from the environment of water; eventually, it will die. The reason I am informing you on this matter is because of this particular statement found in Genesis. “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it, you will certainly die.”
The first thing you must know is this. Eden was not a place it was an environment an atmosphere. Adam and Eve were living in the environment and the presence of the Kingdom of God. When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of good and evil, they had to leave Eden. The reason Adam and Eve had to leave the environment (Eden) is that Adam rebelled against the Kingdom of God when he ate from the tree of good and evil. One could also state that Adam declared independence from the Kingdom of God. What happens when a country declares independence from a governing authority? The country that declared independence is no longer under the present governing body. What is this environment? The environment was Eden, where the holy spirit dwelled. God intended for us to live in his presence. God intended us to live from the inside out, not the outside in.
When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of good and evil the direct connection to the Holy Spirit was lost and we no longer lived from the inside out but from the outside in because if you continue to read the story after Adam ate the fruit it says that the eyes of both Adam and Eve were opened and they knew that they were naked and covered themselves with fig leaves. (Genesis 3:7)
I want you to understand this. Now God did not tell Adam I will kill you or you will die instantly, God told Adam you would surely die. So, because of Adams rebellion there was a spiritual death. I also want you to understand this. Adam had physical eyes because he had the job of naming animals as he saw them, and so did Eve because she saw the tree, serpent, and the fruit. So what eyes were open? The eyes of the outside world of senses. Allow me to go further it says that when Adam and Eve ate the fruit, both of their eyes were open and they covered themselves. Fear entered through the senses of what they saw in the natural.
As a believer, we walk by faith not by sight or in other words, not by our senses. We must understand the importance of living under the influence of the Kingdom of God.
In the book of Isaiah, it reads “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)”
May I suggest to you that we should always be living under the influence of the presence of God. Why should we live under the influence of the presence or Kingdom of God? The reason we should live under the influence of the Kingdom of God is that the Kingdom of God is everlasting, it has peace, and you will become the person God originally intended you to be.
I want to use the example of someone being under the influence of alcohol. When you are operating under the influence of alcohol, you often don’t make the best decisions or others may act out of character. For example, a shy person becomes bold or talkative, words slurring, and some people get angry. Also, under the influence of alcohol, people lose control of themselves, and after the alcohol wears off, you are left with the consequences of your decisions made while under the influence.
In the presence of God, you are under the influence of the Kingdom of God, and unlike the alcohol, it is not a temporary thing, it is a daily process of influence. The influence of the Kingdom of God builds character and also shows you the areas where you are lacking then helps you in those areas. Under the influence of the Kingdom of God or the presence of God, you think, talk, believe, expect, live, and love differently. How does this work you ask? It works by the process of yielding to the Holy Spirit and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform you not conform you but transform you into the original person that God created you to be. Understand that you don’t do the work, as in you don’t try to achieve this by how good you are. Always remember that God blesses you because he is good not because you are good.
God wants you to believe in him and trust him in ALL things and at ALL times. God is the creator of you, and he knows what you need, and when you need it. God also wants you to know that the Kingdom of God is within you, and the Holy Spirit is within you when you decide to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess Jesus is Lord.
Living under the influence of the Kingdom of God not only changes the way you think, live, talk, believe, expect, and love, but it creates a whole new culture. As a Father, you must know that to build a home, family, and relationship you must first be in an environment that is influenced by the Kingdom of God so that you can thrive in every area of your life.
Father God, I pray for everyone who reads this letter. I pray that the eyes of our understanding are open and God, please give us the heart to receive what you are sharing with us. Allow every Father to know they are Kings, and they must take their rightful place in the Kingdom of God and lead under the influence of the presences of God. It is written in your word that those who ask for the wisdom you will give it liberally so God I pray for wisdom for myself and the readers of this letter so that we may know and understand how to live in the presence of God.
