A Letter to a Father about Worship

As I write this letter, I must confess that I didn’t understand worship until I begin to study worship. I didn’t even know that I was worshipping at times. I’m sure you’ve heard the statement from the book of Hosea chapter 4 verse 6 that reads. “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.” The first thing you should know is that God hates Idolatry. Idolatry is when you place more worth on the means than on the end. In other words, it’s when you put more value on the resource, thing, and person rather than the source. Who is the source? God is the source, and we were created to worship him and him alone. Worship is not what you think or what you’ve been taught. To worship means to place the highest value on God. Worship also means to show perpetual gratitude and to surrender.
Now that you understand what worship is, have you been placing your highest value in God or your job? Have you been showing perpetual gratitude to God? Have you surrendered to God? Before you answer these questions, I have to let you in on a secret. Whatever you know, you worship. You cannot worship what you don’t know. I wish that you will get the revelation of true worship. True worship is a pure heart surrendered to God. A pure heart is an honest heart, and everything that comes from the honest heart is not always good, but that’s why you take it to God. Your experiences teach you to worship God. Through our experiences whether good or bad, we get to know God. The reason why God allows you to go through experiences is so that you will have material to worship God. Again you can’t worship beyond what you know about God if you haven’t gone through anything then your worship is limited to your knowledge.
In the book of Matthew Chapter 4 the devil tried to test Jesus but on the last attempt Jesus stated verse 10, and it reads. “Jesus said to him, Away from me Satan! For it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.” Now, why should you worship? You should worship God because He is the creator of ALL things and everything is his. Allow me to show you this revelation in the book of Psalm chapter 24 verses 1-3, and it reads. “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?” It is time King that you lead by example. It’s time for your children to see you worship. I will leave you with this one last scripture. Exodus chapter 23 verses 25-26. “Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.” My prayer is that you will always worship God in spirit and truth.
