A Letter to a Father Battling Fear

You often hear the words don’t worry, or it will be okay, but no one knows the anxiety you feel. You read your inspiring devotional that gives you some relief, you hear that uplifting word that seems to carry you, but the moment you are alone it hits you. The heaviness and anxious feelings and you ask why do I feel this way? What is going on? God, I thought I was over this? I figured I gave this thing or person to you God. I know you are in control. May I let you in on a little secret? Ask God for more faith to believe his plan so that you don’t have to build the courage to accept the enemy’s plan. Fear is believing that the enemy’s plan will prevail over God’s plan. In the book of 2 Timothy chapter 1 verse 7, it reads: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” The situation that you are currently going through, you should know that the provision is already made. You should know that God has given you the power to overcome, a love that can and will conquer anything and a mind made in the likeness of Christ. “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5)
