Psalms 91:1-2 reads “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord; He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” As I write this letter, I must admit that I didn’t understand the meaning of dwelling in the secret place. I didn’t know how to even get to this secret place until I begin to be truly honest with God. My prayer has always been to have a more intimate relationship with God, but I didn’t know that the type of relationship I wanted was given to those who completely surrendered to him. The place where you realize that God is THE source and everything and everyone else is just a resource. As I begin to research Psalms 91, I quickly realized I was in this secret place. What is this secret place? It is in the presence of God. The secret place is the place where you pray to God the location of truth and honesty, the place where you give God everything all of your hurts, pains, success, failures, hang-ups and setbacks. I have to let you in on something the secret place is also the place where the hidden things are revealed to all believers. It is the place where you realize according to Colossians 1:27 that Christ is now living inside of you. This secret place is a place where your spirit will not be touch by anything evil because you are hidden in GOD. There is this one thing that caught my eye, and that is the word dwell. The word dwells means to live. The scripture that comes to mind when I see the word dwell is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” May I suggest this to you and that is ALWAYS to pray, reverence God, trust and obey God because this will lead you to that secret place. You will be in a place of deliverance, grace, peace, love and no lack. I know this to be true because of Psalms 34:7-9. “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.” I know that this letter is full of scriptures, but this is what happens when you are dwelling in the secret place the Lord reveals the truth to his people. No I’m no bible scholar, and No I don’t get it right all the time and yes I’ve missed the mark, but I’ve learned that you must continue to turn to God. You must continue to trust, reverence and obey God in spite of everything. God’s love is real, and so is the secret place.
