The Lord’s Prayer are the words he will recite because together he and I say them every morning and night. I know he is only a child but my prayer is to give him a foundation that is heaven bound. A foundation where he prays, thy kingdom come thy will be done will not be just mere words, but will eventually become his heart’s desire. The reason I teach him this particular prayer is because in the book of Matthews chapter 6 verse 33 it says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” I believe if we start the foundation of a prince seeking the kingdom of God, even if he parts we will not have to worry. It’s imperative that he prays because he is learning repentance and forgiveness, when he utters the words “forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” The Lord’s Prayer continues “and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”. When our prince is tempted or provoked to conduct himself in an ungodly manner I want him to remember that he can have deliverance right in the midst of the situation, if he choose to operate in the fruit of the spirit. The fruit of the spirits which he will acquire by seeking the kingdom of God. Please remember what I have written, the next time I call or text to ask, will you remind him to pray?
